Loss is No Disaster

The art of losing isn't hard to master;

so many things seem filled with the intent

to be lost that their loss is no disaster.

Lose something every day. Accept the fluster

of lost door keys, the hour badly spent.

The art of losing isn't hard to master.

Then practice losing farther, losing faster:

places, and names, and where it was you meant

to travel. None of these will bring disaster.

I lost my mother's watch. And look! my last, or

next-to-last, of three loved houses went.

The art of losing isn't hard to master.

I lost two cities, lovely ones. And, vaster,

some realms I owned, two rivers, a continent.

I miss them, but it wasn't a disaster.

Even losing you (the joking voice, a gesture

I love) I shan't have lied. It's evident

the art of losing's not too hard to master

though it may look like (Write it!) like disaster.

They woke up..She didn't

They woke up but She didn't, She couldn't possibly wake up..not anymore
She couldn't take life's unfairness..not anymore

Her sweet blood running all over her room, if only She could see that sight..it's a relieving sight, so beautiful..now She can leave her room peacefully.

It's not a sad sight, people should exhilarate, rejoice for her belated freedom
She used to hide her tears from them, She couldn't possibly hide..not anymore

She couldn't take any false promises for justice..not anymore

The sun wanted to force a new day upon her but She passed this time.
They woke up but She didn't...She couldn't possibly do

The Future of Books

The ICUDL conference I enjoyed recently at bibalex it stands for "International Conference Universal Digital Library". It's the 2nd one, the first was held in China.

I enjoyed the talk of Mr Usama Fayyad from Yahoo! inc USA. He talked about how the internet now came to be a rich publishing area from individuals (blogs, flickr-yahoo just bought). He labeled the individuals publishing the "wisdom of the masses" which opens a good argument about the amount of junk vs the real authentic information present out there on the web.

Now the real question is: "where books stand now?", Are books dying? or in their way for extinction?!..The second speaker Mr Daniel Clancy, Google, Pointed out something I totally agree with..People tend to go for the easiest fastest way for getting the info they need. Let me give you this example: If u have this big library in ur college campus would u go search there or would u Google it instead?

So again where do books stand now?..I think the only chance for books is digitization. I'm glad bibalex is taking some smart steps towards digitizing the Arabic books, we got a great heritage we need to ensure its spread all over the globe right?!

An inhuman Cairo VW Support Day

With all hopes and dreamy thoughts I woke up at 6 am..add to that on Friday day, one of the few days I enjoy waking up late. Can you picture that image in your mind?..OK..lets see where that day ended..

I took the road to Cairo heading for VW support site which is in "3oboor city" and based on my little info I got concerning Cairo, that sounded like a dark territory for me..I reached there after asking many Cairo native people for guidance..ofcourse I received many misleading guides. I reached the site at around 11, a nice guy with a big friendly smile came to ask me what do I need to fix in my car..mm that's sweet right?! I thought so too..so moving on, I told him everything I wanted to get fixed, made it clear I'm open to pay up whatever it costs..

After 2 hours I went to check upon the car hoping-naive me-that at least something was done..To my disappointment, they couldn't take a decision about fixing some part in the car's tableau, they were afraid fixing that part will harm another thing..so what else would they do..they did nothing. There is no spare part for those parts, I wonder now if I wanted to get a spare part where else should I go?!!!

And to add to my furious feelings, the guy with the big friendly smile came to tell me I need to prioritize my requests as there's no time to do all things..I wondered too what if I needed a new motor to b instilled how many years would that take me?! would I live to see it?!

So starting from 11 am to 4 pm..the very lucky fortunate me got the car's two door handles fixed, can't describe my feelings of rejoice. Wait there's more, they even ruined something in my tableau, it doesn't look the same.

On a positive side, I enjoyed the ride back home..the sky was so clear, u could see the stars shining clearly through the darkness. What made the ride home great indeed, was Abd el Halim deep warm voice filling the car with sweet songs from the mp3 player.

Moral of this story: don't get a VW car, you r better off and never hope much on a car support site no matter how friendly the people are and always listen to Abd el Halim at moments of frustrations :)

The Most Beautiful

Someone asked me what's the beautiful part of the body?..Without thinking I found myself saying "the eyes". But to my contradiction, others said "the brain"
I had to enter that discussion and clarify why?!..

The eyes to me are the only way to convince your mind with the truth. If your eyes saw the whole truth, your brain can never play tricks on you. They say the brain is the most beautiful cos it can think, imagine and go beyond limits.

They say the eyes are the door to your soul, what if those eyes lie the most?!..The eyes always show who you truly are. We trust our brains more though.

Still I'd definitely trust my eyes than my brain..specially my own.
