25 things about me

1. I love to be around highly motivated women with gr8 dreams & hopes. On the other hand, I get annoyed with closed minded women. Many times, I wish I had an elder sister, someone I can share everything without fear.
2. During the day, u'll always find me day-dreaming about things I can never achieve but those dreams keep me going!. Shoot for the moon, even if u miss u'll land among the stars, right? :)
3. My old nickname was magica then somehow it mutated into faded magic. Now It's just my name no one care to nick name me anymore :(
4. When I don't believe in what I'm doing, I don't do it right!
5. Somehow I have this strange charm that makes people admire me, not sure it lasts long though!
6. I wish to visit Paris b4 I turn 30..don't ask y!
7. I sometimes wonder at a passer by & wonder if he/she is happy and then make a prayer for him/her..crazy I know!.
8. I suck at confrontations. I don't know how to apologize cos somehow I get mad at MYSELF for driving anyone mad at me in the first place!
9. I put myself in awkward situations rather than annoy anyone & then I regret acting in such a silly way. I'm so vulnerable inside and get scarred easily.
10. My biggest dream is creating a charitable organization for vulnerable and oppressed women, specially married ones, wherever they are, I'd love to reach out to them. If I can't achieve that, I'll definitely pass this dream on to my kids.
11. The "strongest" type of friendships is a guy-girl friendship (sorry girls but I believe this is true).
12. I've become so scared of people, afraid of them disappointing me which led me into being not social.
13. I love it when someone say I am good driver, that rocks my day :D. I love to be praised in general & b the center of attention..what can I say, I'm a LEO!
14. I have poor judgment on people.
15. I get so frustrated when I can't help someone in desperate need of aid.
16. I always feel that I'm stuck which makes me restless.
17. My biggest fear is dying without living for a cause or to live with no real passion...death is always on my mind these days.
18. The "what if" question sometimes haunts me.
19. I love to inspire young girls and try to help them realize what they r passionate about. I believe I can make a gr8 motivational speaker oneday.
20. I am stubborn like a mule. If any sentence starts with:"u'll do this cos i said so.." then the end of that "day" is going to be eventful, full of speeches about my freedom :). So as u can imagine, I spent most of my teenage days being grounded, but it's ok, I never regret standing out for myself.
21. I adore ice creams and mangoes :)
22. I want to travel and see the world & then tell my children tales about it in my own perspective.
23. I find it hard to forgive & forget but i'm always trying.
24. What makes my day worthwhile is to have meaningful conversations with people I respect and admire.
25. I can go on writing more but anyways..Finally, what can I say I'm just another person living in this world wish to have my own imprints causing a difference in others lives.

That aimless series of comic shows

I don't find laughing at our problems comic enough..I'd rather laugh @ American comedy shows, knowing they got problems too to laugh at. But the difference is: behind the scenes they r working hard 2 solve them...us? no..we r still laughing our hearts out over our own..sigh!

I used to write some quotes each day on my msn, & people used to get controversial over them. Some of my recent quotes:

Missing Manners

Lots of manners are disappearing from our lives. We are actually degrading our expectations too. When u deal with someone u probably expect he'll be rude to u by default.

I will just mention one happening, while I was driving coming out to a cross road a "mashroo3" actually stopped to allow me to pass first...can u imagine!!!!! up till now i still can't believe it :)

I hope we can always keep our good manners no matter wht.

Xubuntos NS2 Set up Steps

It took me a while to have everything in order to start running NS2 specially that I'm a newbie in linux, so I'm sharing these steps:
- First Off I'm working on windows so I had to install VM Ware and Xubuntos http://register.vmware.com/content/eula.html just register and insall the xubuntos image from http://sing.stanford.edu/tinyos/dists/xubuntos-2.1-vm.tar.gz
- Extract the previous file and open with the VM player.
user: xubuntos passwor: tinyos
- To install ns, I preferred to install the allinone package from here.
- When I run ./install it gave me an error with Xgraph and tk: BeginBorder not found and many other lib related errors.
Solution: you need to download libX11-dev
- When I tried: sudo apt-get install libx11-dev, I got an error: us.ubuntu/security fiesty Error 404 not found
Solution: you need to update your settings.list to update the repository you get packages from.
Go to etc/apt/ take backup of the current settings.list and update from here.
After you save you need to go to ur terminal & run: sudo apt-get update
- Now retry to download: sudo apt-get install libx11-dev
- Retry to run ./install
- Now I got a different error related to nam, error can't find WinXUtil
Solution: you need to download libxmu-dev package
- Update you PATH variable as the installation will indicate
I used gedit(ofcourse I need to download it first):
Solution on you terminal: gedit ~/.bashrc
At the end of the file add the following:
PATH=$PATH:/urNsAllinonePath/bin:/urNsAllinonePath/tcl8.4.14/unix:/urNsAllinonePath/tk8.4.14/unix
export PATH

export LD_LIBRARY_PATH=/urNsAllinonePath/otcl-1.13:/urNsAllinonePath/lib
export TCL_LIBRARY=/urNsAllinonePath/tcl8.4.14/library
